Free events at Breathe, Brighton & Hove
The Listening Room
Free talks and evenings where members and guests come together to listen, learn and ask questions. Small circles about living with a condition, and bigger nights with speakers in the room.
- Always free
- Members and guests welcome
- Small circles and big nights
What it is
Two ways to come along
The Listening Room is how we open the doors outside of sessions. Some evenings are small and conversational, others are a full room with guests on stage. Every one of them is free.
Small group talks
A relaxed hour around one subject, such as living with long COVID, arthritis or menopause. A small group, a good chair and time for everyone to talk.
- Around 8 to 12 people
- Held at Breathe, led by our team or a guest
- Share as much or as little as you like
Evenings with speakers
Bigger nights in a podcast-style format, with guests in conversation and time for your questions. Our first is on Alpha-Stim and anxiety.
- Speakers, researchers and members in conversation
- Questions from the room
- Recorded, so you can catch up afterwards

Questions
Good to know
Is it really free?
Yes. Every Listening Room event is free, for members and guests alike.
Do I need to be a member?
No. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend or someone you care for if it helps.
Do I have to talk in a Circle?
Not at all. Some people come just to listen, and that is completely fine.
Where are events held?
At Breathe in Brighton & Hove, unless the event says otherwise. We will send directions with your confirmation.
Are Live evenings recorded?
Usually, yes. We will always say so on the night, and audience questions are only included with permission.
Can I suggest a topic or a speaker?
Please do. Mention it in the sign-up form, or tell us next time you are in.
Our talks share experience and research. They are not medical advice, so please keep talking to your GP or specialist about your own care.
